To accomplish this, you will need a long-term plan based on these three not-so-secret techniques:
There are three things that I want all of my clients to master. If you can master these, then I know that you will live an active life long into the future!
Just three - YES! - if you can really get good at them, they will provide you with the lifestyle you want well into retirement.
Technique #1: A “Habit Hierarchy”
A habit hierarchy will help you ensure you are working smarter, not harder. You simply can’t afford to waste time on the wrong habits.
Understand how to build lifestyle habits and which habits are the right ones to work on based on your specific goals. If you focus on the wrong things first, you will only delay your results. The cool thing about this though is that it is 100% personalized to you. Your top priority habits might be different than someone else's top priority habits.
This is a specific process for identifying the right next step and how it directly connects to your goal is essential to long-term fitness.
Technique #2: Nutrition Ownership
Through nutrition coaching, you learn how to eat better...But it is when you learn how to own your nutrition that you master a sustainable diet.
Now you have something that can work for a decade or more.
You can do this through my “Diet Audit” process and periodic kitchen reviews. You need to know how to make proper adjustments when life changes.
If you know how to properly reevaluate your own nutrition then you can avoid constantly riding the popular diet roller coaster.
Technique #3: A “P.F.E. Movement Routine”
Your movement routine needs to be
Progressive
Focused
Efficient
You need to understand how to progress and modify based on the changes in your lifestyle and your body.
Just like your habits, your movement routine needs to remain focused on what your long-term goals are.
You will not be successful if you find one exercise class and try to stick to that for the next 20 years. This is unreasonable not to mention ineffective.
Understanding the key areas of exercise programming will save you time and money for years to come because you can develop the perfect P.F.E. Movement Routine all on your own.
